Standard:
Effort E3 biggest day 1226 m of ascent, Mountaineering M4 final ridge to Finsteraarhorn is PD, Skiing S3.

Travel out:
We start at Blatten which is easily accessed by Post bus from Goppenstein train station. Coming from Genera change at Brig, coming from Zurich change at Spiez or at Burn & Spiez.

Itinerary:

Saturday
Arrive in Blatten. We are staying at the Hotel Edelweiss in their group accommodating. We are booked in for half pension (90CHF).

Sunday
We skin up to Anenhutte 818m of assent and 9Km distance. After lunch we will refresh our skills at avalanche and crevasse rescue. We are booked in for half pension (125CHF).

Monday
We continue up to the Lotschenluke pass, passing below the Hollandiahutte before descending down the Grosser Aletschfirn to the Konkordiahutte, where we stay for 2 nights, 815m of ascent 14Km distance + the stairs!!. We are booked in for half pension (63CHF).

Tuesday
Today weather permitting we will climb Kranzburg (3666m), 816m of ascent, 12 Km. This will aid with our acclimatisation.

Wednesday
We move to the Finsteraarhornhutte via Grunhornlucke 430 m of ascent and 6Km. We are booked in for half pension (64CHF).

Thursday
Weather permitting we climb Finsteraarhorn (4274m), 1226 m of ascent 6Km.

Friday
We travel to Fiesch via Fieschergletscher if conditions permit. We will stay at the Fiesch YHA. We are booked in for half pension (49CHF).

Saturday / Sunday
Return home.

Equipment:
Standard Ski touring kit, including harscheisen, harness, axe & crampons. You may want to bring your own supply of goodies for lunch. Membership of an alpine club is useful for reduced hut fees.
It is desirable not to use aluminium crampons or plastic shovels. Personal kit list....

Group Equipment:

Will be organised by Keith & Roger and will be distributed through out the team on the first night. This will include; Ropes, Group shelters, ice screws and a repair kit & spares. Group kit...

Cost: Around 500 CHF, excluding travel and drinks.
