Suilven Expedition and the 3 Peaks

Present Keith Ric & Mike & Rob Walker
Hired canoes from Highland canoe in Avimore. Stayed at Avimore YHA Friday & Monday night, they don't do cooked meals.
Followed article Ric had from Trail. Said start from Cam Loch, so we did. No mention of the water fall and portage needed between Cam & Veyatie! Ric shot the first drop of 1m not intentionally! Swomped the boat but nothing lost and no damage. Hard going into strong head wind. Arrived at camping area 1700ish group of 3 already at first site. Camped 200m from them other side of river. Midges bad glad all had nets and DEET50! BBQ for evening meal. Suilven still shrouded in mist and access look very steep and intimidating.
Canoe out 10.5Km 5 hrs , back 8Km 3hrs.

Left camp 0915 Suilven clear, access not as steep when close up (as to be expected as map shows 45% max). Lunch at cairn North summit, then to south summit much more demanding needed rope for Rob for last bit and also Ric for decent. Back at camp 1540. Only met 12 people all day.

All awake at 0600 so up and brew by 0630 left camp 0800 midges really bad!! Much pleasanter return in the sun and no wind finished at Fish Farm and brought Car round. Most helpful at Fish farm, but their key for gate with someone who was not there. The gate was lock when we went to go, unbolted hinges to get out. Lunch at local café in Elphin. If were to do trip again would need to get a key for gate from somewhere.
The 3 Peaks
Mike and I were drivers, Ric and Rob the contenders.
Had a leisurely day slobbing around Fort William Ric and Rob started from YHA in Glen Nevis at 1800hr
The Ben up in 2hr down in 1:30 total 3:30.
Mike and Keith had dinner in a nice restaurant then made food for Rob and Ric on there return in car park. Left for Wasdale 2215hr. Arrived Wasdale 0350 quick cereal and sort, left 0420.
Scarfell Pick up and down in 3hr.
Cooked breakfast on there return left Wasdale 0805 for Pen Y Pass. Arrived 1300 very heavy traffic into North Wales, and car park at PYP full , Ric and Rob left 1310.
Snownon up 1:50 But Robs knee bad before top down 2hrs!!
